I am a public finance professional with over two decades of experience in local government financial management. I currently serve as the Finance Director for the City of Ukiah, where I oversee budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, debt management, and long-range financial planning in support of transparent, sustainable, and fiscally responsible public policy.
My career has been centered on municipal finance, including prior service as Finance Director for the City of Lakeport. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). My professional interests include governmental accounting and reporting, capital financing, financial policy development, and continuous process improvement within finance organizations.
In addition to my role in local government, I am deeply committed to professional development, education, and mentorship. I have served as an adjunct instructor at Mendocino College since 2010, teaching accounting and business courses, and I actively support the development of future public finance professionals through mentorship and engagement with CSMFO. I value CSMFO’s role in advancing the profession and enjoy collaborating with peers across California to share best practices and innovative approaches to public finance.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and exploring new places. I also have a strong interest in college athletics, particularly football and basketball, and appreciate a well-crafted whiskey cocktail—especially rye—which offers a welcome balance to the analytical nature of my professional work.
