Keith DeMartini was selected as the City’s Finance Director in August 2018. He has over 17 years of San Francisco Bay Area financial management experience focusing on fiscal and budget process improvements and system enhancements. He has a broad depth of experience in revenue generating initiatives, budget development and management, procurement process improvements, financial system implementations and integrations and project management.
As the City’s Finance Director, he is responsible for executive management and leadership of the Finance Department, which manages all financial and procurement functions of the City, including financial reporting and audit, payroll, purchasing, vendor management, grant management, accounts payable and receivables, operating and capital budget preparation and management, utility billing, revenue and tax collection and compliance, banking and investment portfolio management, debt management, and business license processes. Current strategic initiatives of the Finance Department include exploring revenue enhancement strategies to fund key City priorities, including revising the City’s user fee structure and implementing a development impact fee program, and implementing process and customer service improvements to purchasing, utility billing and business license functions.
Prior to joining the City of San Bruno Senior Leadership Team, he worked for the City and County of San Francisco for over 10 years, most recently serving as the Financial Systems Director for the Controller’s Office implementing a new, citywide financial and procurement system for employees and vendors.
Keith holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Financial Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Keith grew up in San Bruno and now lives in San Francisco with his wife and 3 kids. His personal hobbies include bike riding, taking his kids to Giant’s games and spending time with family and friends.
